IES CATALINA DE LANCASTER is a small rural secondary school that counts 130 students and 27 teachers. It is located in the main town of a rural area with depopulation problems in the province of Segovia, the sudwest of Castilla y León, 130 kilometres from Madrid.

We have designed a plan to awake the students' interest in different branches of knowledge, in order to reduce early school dropout and raise academic results. Our plan is focused on the improvement of the coexistence and the effective equality between men and women, the improvement of key skills' assessment, the practical and vocational approach to science and humanities, the training and professional projection of teachers, the use of ICT at teaching-learning process, the special attention to both disadvantaged and talented students, the environmental education and the protection of the environment.
